Note:
discrepancy between the protologue type citation and distributed types.
In our article, the collection date and collector of the type specimens for Ipomopsis
ramosa are said to be "29 Jun 2006, A. Schneider 5085 with Betty
Schneider." This date, however, referred to the time that the
species was first discovered by Al and Betty Schneider. The type
collection actually was made 7 Jul 2011 by Al Schneider and John Bregar, as A.
Schneider & J. Bregar 5085, and the label of the distributed specimens
bears the correct information.
In the protologue, the collection number (5085) and all other locality
data, as well as the distribution of the holotype and isotypes, are correct as
published. The name Ipomopsis ramosa can be viewed as validly
published, acknowledging this discrepancy
between the protologue type citation and distributed types.
We thank John Boggan (US) for alerting us to this discrepancy.
